29th October 2010

Richard Parks’ 737 Challenge is proud to announce that Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales will be hosting a very special night for Richard Parks as he sets off on his epic world first challenge to climb the 7 Summits, which are the highest mountain on each of the world's continents, and venture to The South Pole and The Geographic North Pole…all against a 7 month clock.
The special Black Tie Gala Dinner on Thursday 2nd December will be held at National Museum Cardiff and will be an opportunity to join Richard, Steve Williams OBE and special guests for a prestigious night.
Richard stated; “I am very proud and excited that Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales are supporting my leaving event. I am a proud Welshman and to be able to hold this event in such an iconic national venue is fantastic. It will provide an awesome backdrop to the night”.
The dinner will see guests enjoy a lavish night of top class entertainment including a Welsh male voice choir, legendary soul band, a live auction, superior raffle, a sumptuous local menu designed by digby trout Restaurants, fine wines, high profile celebrity guests and business people…and a few surprises too!
Robin Gwyn, Amgueddfa Cymru’s Director of Communications said: “We’re very pleased to be able to host Richard’s pre expedition event to give him the send off he deserves and wish him all the luck with his challenging seven months. The Museum has this year produced an exhibition marking 100 years since Captain Scott left Cardiff on his historic expedition. We hope we’ll be able to celebrate Richard’s success in the same way one day.”
Finally, Richard added; “It is all set to be an awesome night. It’s a great opportunity for businesses to network, as well as for followers and sponsors who have supported me to enjoy the evening. I also hope to raise funds for the challenge and I look forward to seeing everyone there”.
