12th November 2010

Last night saw Richard attend the Cardiff Ambassadors Gala Dinner as a special guest, organised by Cardiff & Co.
Hosted by Tim Vincent and featuring Only Boys Aloud, Nofit State Circus and the Stereotype Dance Crew, the night featured a prize draw, which saw guests donate generously for the 737 Challenge which is raising funds in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Following a talk about his challenge guests pledged a total of £2352.25.
Then, at the end of the evening four ambassadors kindly donated an extra £1,000 each bringing the final sum to £6352.25.
ktsowensthomas Accountants, Cardiff Printing, Celtic Manor and freshbaked all donated £1000 each to Richard’s cause, an amazing end to the evening and Richard was thrilled that so many people generously donated; “It was an awesome night. Great to meet so many people who all play such a huge part in making Cardiff a fantastic place to live, visit and work and I cannot thank everyone enough for all their kind words of support and donations pledged throughout the evening. A big thank you to ktsowensthomas, Cardiff Printing, Celtic Manor and freshbaked who donated that extra £4,000 at the end of the evening, it was the icing on the cake!”.
Richard Thomas, managing director of Cardiff & Co stated; “All I can say is that Richard Parks is clearly a fantastic Ambassador for Cardiff so how fitting that he should play such a prominent role in our 2010 Cardiff Ambassadors Gala Dinner. Everybody present at the 300 person sell-out event was inspired, something reflected in the amount of money raised for the 737 Challenge and Marie Curie Cancer Care. I’m sure that each and every Cardiff Ambassador would join me in wishing Richard well for his amazing adventure and hope that on his return, we will be able to hear from him once again at the 2011 Cardiff Ambassadors Gala Dinner, but this time as an individual who has achieved a world first! In the meantime, all of us at Cardiff & Co will be keeping up-to-speed with his progress on www.737challenge.com. Good luck Richard!”
