Richard’s first BBC Wales Sport Column is now live and in the first of his entries for BBC Sport, Richard talks about his preparations for climbing the highest mountain on each of the world’s continents and reaching both the South Pole and the Geographic North Pole.
You can read about Richard’s thoughts on Denali in Alaska, snowstorms, swimming between icebergs and what Richard and Olympic Rower Steve Williams got up to on a training expedition in Greenland, plus lots more.
Over the following months BBC Sport will be bringing you regular updates as Richard continues his gruelling training programme before setting off to start the 737 Challenge in December. It will also bring you the latest news from the mountains during the expedition.
Richard stated; “I am thrilled that BBC Wales Sport are supporting the 737 Challenge and I hope that the BBC readers will enjoy my column, it’s a great opportunity to talk about all the aspects of the challenge and give readers a real insight in to my training, preparation and my progress once the challenge is underway”.
