737 CHALLENGE CONQUERER JOINS LIKES OF LISA FAULKNER, LEE DIXON AND MARK CAVENDISH
Wasserman Media Group have announced the signing of Richard Parks who became the first man to summit the highest mountain on each of the world’s seven continents as well as reaching both the North and South Poles against a seven month clock.
Parks became the first man to complete the 737 challenge earlier this summer. He joins Wasserman’s growing Broadcast talent roster alongside the likes of Lisa Faulkner, Charlotte Jackson and Lee Dixon. He will also be stablemates with Jack Wilshere, Steven Gerrard and Mark Cavendish who are part of the Wasserman athlete representation division. The agency will be responsible for developing his TV, media, commercial & PR opportunities.
After a career ending injury to his international rugby career Parks set his sights on a new challenge. After a grueling 18 months of meticulous preparation and training, in December 2010, Richard set out to complete his challenge. 6 months, 11 days, 7 hours and 53 minutes later, the challenge was completed and Richard had set a new world first. No other person in the world has stood on the 7 summits and 3 poles in the same calendar year.
Parks said “I’m proud and privileged to be joining The Wasserman Media Group and to be working alongside Jonny McWilliams. It’s awesome to be working with a team of people that share my passion and integrity. As a result of my world first 737 Challenge, many exciting opportunities lay ahead and with WMG I know that I’m in the best hands.”
Wasserman Vice President, Broadcasting Jonny McWilliams, who becomes Parks new representative, said of the signing: “Richard is a new breed of talent who is set to achieve great things and prove to be a big hit on our TV screens in the coming years as he continues to challenge the boundaries of what is possible within the extreme environment world. He is also one of the most humble and likable people you could wish to meet. Richard joins an exciting and growing list of clients and he will be at the forefront of Wasserman’s growing broadcast talent division”
Sam Rush, International Chief Operating Officer for Wasserman, commented: “Richard's story is quite incredible and we're really excited to welcome him to our broadcasting division at Wasserman. He has huge potential and we're looking forward to helping him achieve great success in his career".
