Richard Parks: Conquering the World starts tonight at 10.35pm on BBC One Wales.  Viewers across the UK can watch on BBC iplayer.

The documentary, made by Sports Media Services will be broadcast on Tuesdays at 10:35pm for 3 weeks and follows the twists and turns and dramas of Richard’s epic 7-month race to climb the highest summits on each of the world’s continents and stand on all 3 poles (The North Pole, South Pole and the summit of Everest) making history in the process.

Programme 1 will introduce Richard and his 737 Challenge and follow his training and preparation before seeing him leave Cardiff to embark on the challenge of his life.  He sets off to the South Pole followed by Mount Vinson.  From Antarctica it’s off to South America for the arduous climb of Aconcagua, the highest mountain outside of the Himalayas, before friends, family and Marie Curie Nurse Janet Suart team up with Richard for Kilimanjaro.
