Welcome Richard Parks home today

19th July 2011

Welcome Richard Parks home today

Come and join in the celebrations as Wales welcomes home former Flanker Richard Parks today as he returns on home soil after completing his world first 737 Challenge.

Parks made history a week ago becoming the first ever person to climb the continental summits and stand on all 3 poles – The North Pole, South Pole and summit of Everest in the same calendar year.

Today he’ll return to Cardiff Bay, where he left on December 12th 2010 and began his incredible race against the clock.

He will arrive at the Senedd at 4.00pm to greet well-wishers, followers and fans before attending an invitation only reception at 4.30pm.

We would love you to come along and be part of Richard’s homecoming and cheer him home at 4.00pm.  Please come down and show your support for Richard who is aiming to raise £1m in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Richard stated; “I am really looking forward to arriving home and seeing my friends and family and thanking all the people that have followed me throughout the challenge and supported me.  I’ve been overwhelmed by all the messages so far and I am incredibly proud to be returning to Cardiff Bay where I left for the challenge and also to the Senedd where I held my Welsh launch of the 737 Challenge over a year ago”.

So knock off work early, bring the kids along, grab your mates and get down to the Senedd later to give Richard Parks a cracking Welsh welcome home!

See you at 4pm today!
